The Diving
Cozumel is drift diving. The current carries you along dramatic walls, swim-throughs and coral pinnacles inside the Cozumel Marine Park, and you spend the dive looking rather than finning. Eagle rays, nurse sharks, turtles, and the splendid toadfish that lives nowhere else on earth.
Dive operations are run by Aldora Divers — the island’s No. 1 VIP operator, PADI 5-Star IDC, thirty years on the island. Maximum six divers per boat, matched by gas and experience, on HP steel tanks that give you multi-level profiles averaging over seventy minutes of bottom time. Full dive butler service all week: gear rinsed, cleaned and stored for you.
Effortless drift diving, and 70-minute dives to shoot it.

Questions
BEFORE YOU BOOK
-
No. Open Water certification is all that is required. A few sites — Punta Sur and Devil’s Throat in particular — are deeper and more demanding, and Aldora match divers to boats by experience, so nobody is put somewhere they should not be.
-
Cozumel is drift diving by default. The current is generally gentle and predictable, running north along the reef. You go with it and the boat follows your bubbles. It is the least demanding current diving we run. -
Long. Aldora use HP steel tanks (80, 100 and 120 cu ft), which means multi-level profiles averaging over seventy minutes of bottom time. It is a genuine difference from a standard aluminium 80.
-
You need a HERO13 or MISSION 1 PRO. If you do not own one, it is available in the GoPro Dive Bundle add-on at booking.
-
If it has been more than 18 months, we strongly recommend a PADI Refresher or ReActivate before you travel. We can arrange one — just tell us when you book.
-
The 24-hour no-fly rule before Sunday departures. It becomes the editing day, which is when most people finally finish their film.
-
Fly into Cozumel International (CZM) — the hotel is 10–15 minutes by taxi. You can also fly into Cancun (CUN), take the ADO bus to Playa del Carmen and the ferry across, around 3–4 hours. Airport transfer is available as an add-on.
Ten dives, two certifications, one week.
